Club Gunnedah is seeking new directors to help steer the organisation into an exciting new era of growth and development. The search comes as the club prepares to launch a major, multi-stage expansion plan in the first phase of a $7 million re-development.
The club has a rich history, beginning in 1943 as the Gunnedah & District Servicemen’s Club before amalgamating with the Gunnedah Men’s Bowling Club in 1997. Today, it stands as a central community hub located at 313 Conadilly Street, renowned for its welcoming atmosphere, classic country hospitality, and a wide range of facilities. These include two bowling greens, a bistro, live entertainment, and popular weekly events.
The comprehensive expansion plans will build on this legacy and transform the club’s facilities. The project includes significant upgrades to the administration offices, function rooms, and the main auditorium. A key highlight of the development is the addition of a modern rooftop bar, designed to offer a new social and entertainment experience for members and guests.
To provide interested community members with more details, Club Gunnedah will host a special information night for prospective directors. The event will be held at the club from 7pm on Wednesday, September 24. This is a great opportunity to learn about the responsibilities and commitment of a director’s role, get an in-depth look at the club’s future development plans, and understand the current financial position of the club.
General Manager Marc Eisenhauer is encouraging anyone with a passion for the club and a vision for Gunnedah to attend. “This is your chance to be a part of the future of Club Gunnedah,” he said, emphasising the importance of community involvement in shaping the club’s next chapter. The event is a chance to learn how you can contribute to this significant new phase of growth and help shape the club’s vision for years to come.
