Members of Gunnedah Physical Culture Club (aka Gunnedah Physie) had some great results at last month’s New England Zone competition at Tamworth BJP Physie Club.

The year 5/6 team and 9/10 Pink Divas team claimed first placings, while the 7/8 team placed fourth.

Although the 9/10 Purple Pandas and 11/12 team didn’t gain a top four placing, Gunnedah Physie secretary Rebecca Streater said they danced beautifully.

“What an amazing weekend it was,” she said.

Ms Streater said the Gunnedah members had worked tirelessly in the past eight months and “had the chance to truly shine” at the zone competition.

“With 48 juniors and ladies taking the floor, we couldn’t be prouder of the dedication, grace and sportsmanship they displayed,” she said.

“To all of our members – you are winners in our eyes. The friendships, confidence and teamwork we witnessed over the weekend are what physie is truly about.

“We are so thankful for our wonderful club community, our families who support us and the friendships that continue to grow each year.”

Ms Streater congratulated the Gunnedah Physie contingent which qualified for the national titles at Sydney Olympic Park, with the ladies nationals on October 26 and the junior nationals on November 30.

“This is an incredible achievement, and we can’t wait to cheer you on as you take the next step,” she said.
