On Saturday, February 21, 50 members of the Country Women’s Association held a Facts Day in the Gunnedah rooms.

State president Mrs Tanya Jolly, state secretary Mrs Bronwyn Dunstan and state treasurer Miss Ruth Cargill were in attendance.

Members from neighbouring groups Gwydir, Castlereagh Country, and Wanthella were welcomed by Namoi Group president Mrs Sandra Hunter.

The main subject on the day was the duties of a treasurer, either a branch or group treasurer, and how things have changed with the introduction of computers and online business. All in all, it was a very interesting day.

Namoi group members will be meeting again Saturday, March 7 for the judging of the CWA State Handicraft competition, the judge of which will be Mrs Ruth Shanks of Dubbo.

The selected items will be sent off to the State Conference to be held at Forster in May.

The Land Cookery will be held later in the month at Manilla, so good luck to all those entering with their cakes etc.

Kat Haenga, branch international officer, travelled to Dubbo for the International Seminar on Country of Study which this year is Fiji.

If you are interested in joining the Country Women’s Association, you will be most welcomed.
