Gunnedah Health and Fitness Co (GHFC) had 18 athletes competing in the recent Hyrox Brisbane and one athlete competing in the Hyrox Australia-Pacific-Asian Regional Championships.
GHFC owner Maryanne Perkins (pictured) placed fifth in her age group at the Hyrox APAC Regional Championships, after being unable to run for two months leading up to the event.
Most of the GHFC participants achieved a personal best (PB) in their respective events, or completed the event for the first time.
“It was a fun-filled few days for the 40-strong team of athletes and supporters, featuring lots of cheering and celebration dinners afterwards,” Maryanne said.
“The vibe of the sport Hyrox is so great that it’s quite addictive.
“It is a low-risk sport that is growing in popularity worldwide.”
