GUNNEDAH Day VIEW celebrated its 53rd birthday on 24 July at the Gunnedah Rugby Club.
The celebration was well attended with 57 ladies present from eight clubs.

Zone councillor Leeanne Stubbs and national councillor Mary Hollingworth were also welcomed to the gathering.
Visiting clubs included Tamworth Day, Tamworth Evening, Tamworth Peel Evening, Manilla Day, Inverell and Glen Innes.

New members Sandy King and Gillian Boyer received their member badges from Ms Stubbs.
The guest speaker was Dr Kate Bricknell from Tamworth Cross Roads, which she started in her garage before moving to larger premises helping children with their learning.

Dr Bricknell spoke on writing memories and how important it is to have things written down for future generations.
The crowd listened with great interest.

A delicious meal was served, followed by a beautiful cake made and decorated by member Anne Finnegan.
Ms Hollingworth and Ms Stubbs had the honour of cutting the celebratory cake.

Gunnedah Day VIEW is supporting six Learning for Life Students through The Smith Family.
