LIGHT AND SHADOW
Today, 20 August, is Daffodil Day.
Did you know that many cancer charities around the world use the daffodil as their fundraising symbol?
Perhaps it is their bright colours and cheerfulness, or their long association with hope and resurrection.
I know that the appearance of the first daffodils in my garden each year is a moment of joy and wonder.
At Make It! on Wednesday 26 August we will be making DIY shadow boxes, perfect for showing off your new works of art. These simple paper creations are a great way to make your artwork ‘pop’ and turn your hallway into a high-end gallery.
The fun starts at 3.30pm, costs $3 per person and is open to all ages.

Cleopatra (FSF ELA) by Saara El-Arifi is a re-imagining of the life of an iconic queen.
Born into a world that attributed little value to girls, she was under-estimated and discounted all her life, until her story was written by men who sought to twist her into a manipulative and bloodthirsty ruler.
Now she is taking back her own narrative…
