Birthing services remain outof action at Gunnedah Hospital

Birthing services continue to be unavailable at Gunnedah Hospital, with health officials citing recruitment difficulties as the primary cause. The issue has again resurfaced with Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson and Gunnedah-based Member of the Legislative Council Sarah Mitchell voicing their concern that fully-staffed maternity facilities are inaccessible at the recently upgraded hospital. Gunnedah Hospital received a $53m redevelopment which included new birthing facilities. Concerns voiced about Porcupine Lookout used as dumping ground

Concerns have been voiced about Porcupine Lookout being used as a dumping ground. Rubbish has again accumulated at one of the town’s much-loved tourism destinations which features sweeping views looking down to the township and out towards the plains. In recent weeks, Gunnedah Urban Landcare Group amassed another trailer load of rubbish. Volunteers take great pride in their role in conserving and restoring the environment at the lookout.
