Funding to grow multicultural festivals

Multicultural organisation which run projects, and activities that build a stronger, more harmonious community are encouraged to apply for funding under the Multicultural NSW Stronger Together Grants Program. Gunnedah Coles chilled in Big Freeze

Gunnedah Coles had its own Big Freeze to raise money for Fight MND with store manager Jesse Stieger and Renee Stevens braving the cold last week. Coles Gunnedah raised more than $5000 for the charity this year between sales of beanies and donations at the checkout. It helped make up the $8 million the Coles Group raised for Big Freeze 11. Insurance premiums a ‘nightmare’ for business

Business advocates are backing the call for reform on worker’s compensation, describing current arrangements as a “nightmare” for local operators. Business NSW regional director for the New England North West Diane Gray said the problem had become so dire, some operators could close because of the price increases involved. “We have some businesses across regional NSW where this could shut their doors,” Ms Gray said.
