Whitemans celebrate 60 years

Married at St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church 60 years ago, Gunnedah’s Marj and Athol Whiteman were celebrated by family and friends with an afternoon tea at their Oaktree Village home recently. Like many other couples, Marj and Athol have shared many happy occasions but also the tough times when they stuck together and worked as a team. Marj says it’s about understanding and communication and working things out together. Gunnedah vet ‘officially’ retires after almost 50yrs

After 48 years tending to animals big and small in the region, local veterinarian David Amos has said his last goodbyes to customers and staff at Gunnedah Veterinary Hospital. Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Chapel’s treasured history

Celebrations for the centenary of our Lady of Perpetual Succour Chapel at the Convent of Mercy were attended by a wide cross section of the community, and looking back through history, support for the Sisters has been ongoing since their arrival in 1879. Construction of the beautiful Romanesque Chapel in 1924-25 is no exception with the wider community stepping up to support the project and the Sisters who had pioneered secondary education in the town. Capezios renew vows for 60th anniversary

Luigi and Giovanna (Jan) Capezio were surprised by their family with a 60th anniversary celebration. What was meant to be a lunch in the heart of Sydney to commemorate the milestone turned also into a renewal of their vows at All Hallows Catholic Parish, Five Dock. They also received a plaque from Pope Francis – not long before his passing. This was their second message from the Pope, after also being given one for their 50th anniversary.
