Chaffey outlines Coalition plan to scrap net zero

Families and businesses in the Parkes electorate would be prioritised under a Liberals and Nationals plan to scrap Australia’s legislated net zero target and focus on cheaper and reliable energy. Gunnedah Shire residents are being encouraged to “nominate your mate” for the 2027 Australia Day Awards, with nominations now open across 12 categories. The awards recognise the achievements and contributions of community members over the past 12 months, with categories covering community service, sport, creative achievements, accessibility and inclusion, and community events. Garden club welcomes Tamworth visitors

Gunnedah Garden Club welcomed a busload of visitors on Saturday 19 September – 45 members from the Tamworth Cottage Garden Club. It was a full day, with lots of stops on their agenda, including two open gardens. They started with morning tea and a browse around Julia Withers’ garden, then on to the Presbyterian Flower Show and Spring Fair, and they then visited Helen Murrell’s garden. Locals are being encouraged to support small businesses throughout October, with Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson calling on the community to think local and buy local during Small Business Month.
