Gunnedah hosts 2025 NSW Speedway Kart Championship

Gunnedah Speedway hosted a karting event for the first time last month as this venue was used for this year’s Speedway Karting Association of Australasia (SKAA) NSW Speedway Kart Championship. This year was East Coast Speedway Kart Club’s turn to host, after the South Coast-based and Sydney-based speedway kart clubs had hosted the annual event in recent years. Eighty competitors came from around NSW, Queensland, Victoria and Tasmania, as participants ranged from 7 to 70 years of age. Could Lucas be Gunnedah’s youngest hole-in-one winner?

Lucas Grosser secured a place on the hole-in-one honour board at the Gunnedah Golf Club as he achieved one of the sport’s most illustrious feats last Saturday. The 15-year-old Gunnedah-based golfer became one of the youngest to land a hole-in-one at Gunnedah, as his moment of glory came on the seventh hole in the Greg Anderson Memorial Stableford event. Lucas finished with his best scratch score so far, 71, while he had a handicap of seven. Tennis quartet progresses to next level

Four students from Gunnedah South Public School earned selection for the North West Primary Schools Sports Association (PSSA) tennis team, following trials at Tamworth on March 5. Lachlan Finnerty, Harry Tudgey, Adalie Muddle and Phoebe Neilsen will compete in Bathurst from May 6 to 9 along with players from the North West, North Coast, Hunter, Riverina, Sydney West, Sydney North, Sydney East, Sydney South West, South Coast, Western, Polding, Mackillop, and Combined Independent Schools (CIS). Gunnedah to contest first home match for 2025 North West AFL season

The Gunnedah Bulldogs are looking forward to their first home match of the North West men’s AFL season this Saturday, after starting the season with two heavy losses away from home. Following a 124-point defeat at Inverell in round one on May 3, the Bulldogs went down 17.12.114 to 5.6.36 against the Tamworth Kangaroos on Tamworth soil last Saturday.
