GUNNEDAH and District Soccer Association’s under-9s team returned home as victors following a grand final win at the Wauchope soccer gala day. The boys, who were again coached by Paul Hickman, claimed the title in extra time against Port Macquarie City. The Gunnedah Guns made the four-and-a-half-hour trek through the mountains in the hope of adding to their medal haul following a previous win at a Moree carnival in June. THE Gunnedah Bulldogs are just one win away from hosting the Group 4 rugby league grand final after building a formidable run of form heading into their major semi-final against Moree. First grade head into their clash at Moree full of confidence after stringing together seven straight wins, including a convincing 48–12 victory over the Boars when the teams last met in June.
