As fundraising for disadvantaged students gets under way for 2023, Gunnedah Evening VIEW Club members were treated to a fun night of old-fashioned parlour games and a craft challenge at last week’s dinner meeting.
Musical chairs and pass the parcel – with a twist – rounded off an enjoyable evening with program officers, Kerry Keating and Sue Braby, announcing a range of “fines” which all went into the pot for the club’s Learning for Life students.
Then came the final fine “anyone who has not already paid a fine”.
With secret Friends in VIEW revealed at the recent annual general meeting, members received the names of their new “friend” to care for in secret over the next 12 months.
Gunnedah Evening View Club will co-host the area gala day with Gunnedah Day VIEW Club at the end of April, when delegates from all over the region will converge on Gunnedah Services and Bowling Club.
Members have also received an invitation to Peel Evening VIEW Club’s 33rd birthday on April 26.
The outgoing committee and new members recently enjoyed a “changeover” dinner at the Maverick Restaurant to mark the end of another year.
Next month’s dinner meeting at the Harvest Lodge will have an Easter theme, with guest speaker Shirley Palmer who came to Australia with her family as “A Ten Pound Pom”.
New members are always welcome.
