Members of the Boggabri branch of the United Hospital Auxiliaries NSW are grateful to receive a donation from Boggabri and District Rugby League Club.
President of the club, Greg Haire presented a $1000 cheque to Noreen Boehm, secretary of the Boggabri UHA.
The hospital auxiliary is continuously fundraising and works in harmony and collaboration with the hospital management to assist and support the welfare and comfort of patients and staff at the Boggabri Multi-Purpose Service.
The auxiliary raises funds to purchase much-needed items and medical equipment on the facility’s wish list, as well as general health care needs.
All funds raised by the branch are retained for the health service in Boggabri.
High on the list of equipment is a Accu Vein handheld unit, a forearm walker unit and replacing a speciality bed.
At the UHA meeting last week it was decided that the group would purchase the forearm walker and bed as soon as possible and would continue to work with other parties to purchase the vein finder.
“We are happy to support the UHA,” Mr Haire said. “You are doing a great job and the hospital is a vital service in the community and many players, members and supporters have used the facilities and it’s comforting to know that these facilities are available in our community.”
