Some of Gunnedah’s strongest and talented swimmers lined up on the blocks at Nyngan on the weekend for their last carnival of the year.

Audrey Hannaford, who had just returned from the NSW Senior State Age Championships in Sydney, nailed six gold medals and six silver to round off a hugely successful year for the 14-year-old.

Speedster Josh Spinks bagged 11 gold and blitzed his competitors in the 11 years boys’ division, with his best race the 200m breaststroke where he slashed 6.63 seconds off his personal best time.

With money on the line, he also finished in second place in the 11-12 years boys Dash for Cash with a time of 31.33 seconds, along with another silver in the 100m freestyle and breaststroke.

Molly Ramien (11) powered up the pool to take out the 11-12 years girls Dash for Cash and broke a Gunnedah club record in the 11 years girls 50m butterfly.

Molly was off to a flying start and held form to touch the wall in a blistering 32.66 seconds, breaking Pip Donaldson’s record of 32.97 that has been held since 2011.

She also bagged nine gold medals from 10 races, as well as a silver medal.

Cameron Sills (10) was on the money to win the 9-10 years boys Dash for Cash and also came home with nine gold medals and three personal best times.

After a stellar season, he added another three silver medals to his haul, while brother Aiden picked up gold in the 25m freestyle and breaststroke and two silver.

Katie Spinks won gold in the 50m breaststroke and dropped a massive 17 seconds in the 200m individual medley to finish just outside the medals.

The 13-year-old also came away with two silver medals, clinching second place in the 200m breaststroke and 50m freestyle and two bronze.

Matilda Denovan (11) shaved time off her 200m medley to place second with a time of 3:09.06 seconds. She also won bronze in the 50m butterfly, breaststroke and backstroke.

Meanwhile, in the 33m Dunedoo pool a week earlier, Cameron Sills blazed home with 10 gold medals from 10 races and won the exciting Skins knockout event. He also broke two Dunedoo pool records in the 100m butterfly and breaststroke.
