Police were earlier this week investigating a crash which left a scooter rider seriously injured after a crash with a stolen ute in Tamworth on Saturday.
Between 9.30pm and 1am on Saturday, March 16, a white Holden Colorado was reported stolen from a home in Gunnedah.
About 11.35pm that night, emergency services treated a 31-year-old scooter rider with serious injuries to his head and leg. His electric scooter was significantly damaged.
Police seized CCTV which showed a crash between the vehicle. The ute then leaves the scene.
The rider, who is from West Tamworth, was taken to Tamworth Base Hospital in a stable condition.
