Crews from the Rural Fire Service worked to contain a fire on Kelvin Road which was started about 11am on Sunday.

About 140 hectares was burnt in the hills as crews used assistance from heavy plant and aviation resources to keep the fire at advice level with no immediate threats to the community.

The fire was contained when rain settled throughout the region on Tuesday afternoon.
