The NSW Highlanders Pipe Band will be playing in the North West later this month as part of the Tamworth Scottish Ceilidh.

Hosted by The Tamworth & District Highland Society Pipe Band on Saturday May 18, the Ceilidh (kay-lee) – descended from the Gaelic word for “gathering” or “party” – promises a fun-filled night of dancing, good music, good food and great company.

The NSW Highlanders Pipe Band will perform along with Tamworth pipe band, featuring Highland dancing, sing-alongs and small pipes.

The NSW Highlanders Pipe band includes members from Gunnedah, Tamworth, Inverell, Armidale, Coffs Harbour, Manning Valley, Port Macquarie and Blacktown.

The band is returning to Glasgow, Scotland, for the World Pipe Band Championships in August 2024 and is raising funds to hire its drums while in Scotland.

Guests at the Tamworth performance will enjoy a three-course Scottish dinner, an address to the Haggis (and available for those who dare to try some!) and a truly Scottish raffle.

A licensed bar on site will offer refreshments but guests are reminded there will be no ATM facilities at this venue and no BYO.

Tickets cost $48 per person, available now by searching via: ticketebo.com.au by searching ‘Tamworth Scottish Ceilidh’.

Tartan up and join in the fun in Tamworth!
