Gunnedah Garden Club members met recently in the beautiful garden of 4Eva Keepsakes, kindly hosted by owner, Jo Ford.

It was a lovely warm day, with members enjoying morning tea in the sunshine and welcomed a new member, Coral Lorimer.

After the formalities of the meeting, the club held its annual Chrysanthemum Competition.

There were not a lot of entries, as the Chrysanthemums have bloomed early this year.

Winners were Julia Withers, for miniature, large and champion blooms, with Jenny Duncan winning medium chrysanthemum.

Hope Phillips graciously consented to be the judge this year.

After the meeting, members visited Julia Withers’ garden to enjoy a stroll around her flower beds, potting shed and vegetable patch, with many going home with pots and cutting of flowers that were admired.

Julia, like many gardeners, generously shares her plants with others.

The June meeting will be the annual Pot Plant Stall, so members will be bringing along their spare pot plants and cuttings.

Always an enjoyable day, finding something different for the garden.
