Ghosts, ghouls, witches and wizards and maybe even a ghost buster will invade Gunnedah Town Hall next week, as the Halloween Mock Debutante Ball gets under way raising funds for Can Assist.
Now in its third year, the fun night has attracted 10 ‘debutantes’ with a role reversal seeing the gowns on blokes and the girls partnering them dressed in their ghoulish best.
The ‘debs’ and their partners will be presented to Marg and Dave Amos and with Gunnedah’s own Vanessa Lea and Roadtrain cracking out the musical vibes all night, the dance floor is sure to full, with ball patrons checking for any ‘vampire like characters’ wanting to get too close.
A full bar will be in operation and the dress code is ‘Halloween’ – locals are urged to get creative and come along for a ‘spooktacular’ night of fun, laughter and community spirit.
All funds raised will support the work of Can Assist, a local volunteer group helping Gunnedah shire residents with expenses as they travel their cancer journey.
With many cancer survivors part of the small group of passionate volunteers they understand that families often struggle to cope with a reduced income as a result of a cancer diagnosis and that they face increased expenses from travel, accommodation and medical costs. The group works tirelessly to raise funds and the Halloween Mock Debutante Ball is one of its best sources of income.
Doors open at 7pm and tickets can be purchased for $35 at trybooking.com/events/landing/1298754
