Gunnedah’s junior cricketers hit the ground running as seven fixtures took place last Friday afternoon.

Mannion Drilling was the only winning team in the U13 Mixed division as one of the fixtures finished in a tie.

In the U18 Mixed division, Rhazzard Concreting & Excavation and The Verdict finished on top.

The modified U11 games featured Gunnedah Windscreen & Auto Glass against The Verdict, AMG Welding & Fabrication against Get Switched On, and Tyrepower Gunnedah against Gunnedah Plumbing.

At Auto Pro Field, Mannion Drilling made 5-51 in 14 overs compared with Hennessy Real Estate’s 7-27 in 10 overs.

Joe Swain captured 3-3 in one over for Mannion, and the top scorer for the victors was Parker Seach with 20.

Linden Miller took 2-4 for Hennessy.

In the tied match at Karen Carter Field, Sign Print Stitch made 4-61 in 14 overs compared with 5-84 in 20 overs from Stripes Engineering.

Sign Print Stitch player Nicholas Swain and Stripes player Dougie Watson each made 23 not out, while the standout batter was Toby Martin with 45 for Stripes.

In one of the U18 matches at Donnelly Field, Gunnedah Plumbing made 4-122 in 13.2 overs before Rhazzard Concreting & Excavation romped to 1-123 in 13.5 overs.

Lucas Grosser hammered 52 for Gunnedah Plumbing while James Hayne made an undefeated 37.

In the run chase, Jonah Cameron retired on 55 while Harry Paul made 29 not out.

In the other contest at Donnelly Field, Jack Duncan scored an impressive 52 not out while Tyler Howes made 28 in Ultra Fleet’s total of 4-118 in 20 overs.

Owen Rixon nabbed 2-4 in three overs for The Verdict, before Duncan claimed 2-2 in two overs.

Harvey Stokes and Noah Kelly helped The Verdict to a match-winning 2-119 in 16 overs, with Stokes retiring on 53 before Kelly finished on 36 not out.
