Ten youngsters took an opportunity to learn all things health and fitness at Gunnedah Health & Fitness Co. (GHFC) last Friday, as part of a holiday workshop organised by Gunnedah Shire Council.
With attendees ranging from 7 to 15 years of age, the workshop included a tour of the gym and its recovery room, education and discussion on health and nutrition, a partnered fitness workout, and a nutritious refuel with freshly squeezed juice from Reverence Sourdough.
There was also a yoga and meditation session with GHFC yoga instructor Michelle Riordan.
The fitness workout was designed to be adaptable to all ages and be interactive, as human connection is a major health goal at GHFC.
The youth were in pairs and had each station modified to their ability and level.
GHFC coach Maryanne Perkins said it was a good chance for the youth of Gunnedah to expand and/or refresh their learnings on health, as well as get off screens and do some activity for a couple of hours during the school holidays.
