Canteen Volunteers
The school is always happy to see its canteen volunteers. All enjoyed seeing Flynn last Friday towering over Mrs Mac.
Flynn was happy to come back to his primary school where his little brothers still attend to lend a hand.
PBL 4-for-4 Rewards
Students had an unforgettable 4-for-4 rewards afternoon filled with creativity, discovery, and fun! From colouring in the art room to exciting hands-on science experiments, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Some students relaxed with a movie, while others got competitive with board games or explored the latest tech in the Digital Den. It was a fantastic way to celebrate their respectful, responsible and safe behaviour—well done to all!
Stage 1R
The students in Stage 1R have been busy with some exciting hands-on literacy and numeracy activities!
In literacy, they’ve been diving into stories, practising storytelling and creating their own with lots of imagination. They’ve also been improving their phonics skills through explicit instruction.
In numeracy, the class has been using counters, number lines and games to explore addition, subtraction and place value. These activities make learning math more fun and help everyone get a better grasp of the concepts.
It’s been a fantastic time of learning and growth for Stage 1R.
Yarn and Art
This program is run by Winanga-Li and the school is grateful to Benny and Tara for spending quality time with the students each week.
In second break on a Wednesday, these students have a chat over lunch and then do a fun activity together in the Walaaybaa room.
It is hoped that most students will get a chance to attend during the year.
Stage 2 Swimming
For the past few weeks, Stage 2 students have been travelling to the Gunnedah Memorial Pool for sport to develop their swimming skills. Learning to swim and being comfortable in and around water is a vital life skill. These lessons are part of each child’s curriculum which the school has provided free of charge to families. There are three qualified swimming instructors at the pool to assist teachers assess students’ swimming ability and then work on their skills accordingly over the next four visits to the pool. Staff said the students have been having a great time, and their abilities and confidence have definitely grown.
