A man was airlifted to hospital after being injured in an incident at Gunnedah Rural Museum earlier today.

It is understood the man was working on a roof at the museum when he fell about mid-morning.

Multiple emergency services responded to the incident including units from Gunnedah and Boggabri.

The man was transported by road ambulance to John Longmuir Playing Fields where the Westpac Rescue Helicopter had arrived earlier.

It is understood the man was in a stable condition when he was airlifted to hospital.

Gunnedah Rural Museum was unable to provide comment about the incident.

Gunnedah police were also contacted for comment.

Ambulances arrive at Longmuir Fields from the museum.
