A $10 million development is being proposed in the Gunnedah’s CBD.
Plans for a lifestyle and retail precinct, named Eucalypt in honour of the koala capital title, will soon be submitted to Gunnedah Shire Council.
The development is planned for 372, 374, 376 Conadilly Street and 151, 153, 155 Little Conadilly Street.
The project proponent, Stripes Group, predicts the development will create about 40 temporary construction jobs and more than 100 jobs when completed.
Stripes director of development Jack Chaffey said there would be about 12 months of construction once plans are approved.
“We’re creating high quality commercial spaces where tenants can move in and really thrive,” Jack Chaffey said.
“It’s a perfect site, it is right on the mainstreet [with] dual frontage.”
He said the site would be almost 6000m² with more than 3000m² of lettable area.
This will include parking, with about 80 car spaces available on site.
Despite its plans yet to be approved by council, about half of the floor space is pre-leased.
Among the tenants, the development would house 360 Fitness Club and 360 Health Clinic Gunnedah.
The move from the Abbott Street intersection would include a “much wider range of services” according to 360 Health Clinic Managing Director Jess Barber.
