The Gunnedah Red Devils first graders will resume their Central North Rugby Union (CNRU) season this Saturday as they contest the Inverell Highlanders at Inverell Rugby Club.
The top-placed Red Devils had a bye last Saturday while the fifth-placed Highlanders had a gallant 29-21 loss to the second-placed Quirindi Lions in the six-team competition.
Inverell also provided Gunnedah with tough opposition when the teams met back on May 24, with the Red Devils coming from behind to win 33-24 at home.
Gunnedah’s reserve grade and women’s teams also compete at Inverell this Saturday, albeit after they contested the Barraba Rams at Barraba last Saturday.
The Red Devils reserve graders remained without a win this season as the hosts prevailed 36-21 after scoring six tries to three.
The Red Devils women meanwhile sank to their fourth straight loss, as Barraba won 24-19 after scoring four tries to three.
