The Gunnedah Red Devils women are ready to tackle the Tamworth Pirates on Central North Rugby Union (CNRU) preliminary final day at Gunnedah Rugby Park this Saturday, with a grand final spot up for grabs.
Gunnedah is coming off a bye, while the Pirates are licking their wounds after copping a 63-12 thrashing at the hands of the Narrabri Blue Boars on Gunnedah soil.
At the same venue two weeks earlier, the Red Devils beat the Pirates 34-10 to conclude the regular season.
Despite two losses for the Pirates at Gunnedah Rugby Park in successive outings (with a bye in between), the Red Devils won’t have forgotten their horrific 75-0 loss to the Pirates in Tamworth back on June 21.
After beating the Red Devils 29-12 in last year’s grand final, the Blue Boars have been undefeated this season.
