A mixed outlook among New South Wales farmers has seen sentiment in the state’s agricultural sector decline, according to the latest rural confidence survey. The survey found farmers were overall feeling less confident about their prospects for the year ahead – with concerns about high input prices and government policies and intervention top of mind. The survey noted that while price concerns were holding back grain grower confidence, the outlook in terms of yields for the coming harvest is bright – particularly in northern cropping areas. The Gunnedah region’s canola crops have been looking spectacular in recent weeks with bright yellow hues lining the landscape.
