A special 20-year service presentation was held recently for long-time Yallambee staff member, Sondra Campbell.
Yallambee Home for the Aged marked the occasion on October 30 by hosting family members, board members past and present, and residents in the Yallambee dining room.
When speaking on behalf of the Yallambee, board secretary Owen Hasler said: “Sondra commenced work as a day cook job sharing duties on May 12, 2005.
“Sondra worked both a day cook
during the week and night cook on weekends.
“In 2009 Sondra expanded her duties to include cleaning on her weeks off from cooking.
“She has recently retired from the cleaning role and is currently our day cook.
“The success of Yallambee’s operation over many decades has been the result of the outstanding work of Sondra and her colleagues.
“These efficient, happy staff have interacted very positively with our clients.
“This fact is recognised and reinforced by the attendance of former long-term board members Margaret Dodd and Brian and Judy Lenton who, with their knowledge and respect of Sondra’s work, hold her in very high regard,” Mr Hasler added.
Board member and treasurer, Chris Gittoes, presented Ms Campbell with a certificate recognising her 20 years of service and two gifts.
Sondra’s family members were also in attendance at the light luncheon.
