Gunnedah Evening VIEW Club members celebrated the end of another successful year with a Christmas dinner at The Bowlo outdoor area last week.
With a traditional red and green theme, the outfits were festive and bright, with Santa’s elves arriving to hand out the Christmas presents in the form of twins Harry and Georgia Hobson.
The delightful Christmas cake created by program officer Kerry Keating was perfect for the occasion made from individual patty cakes in the shape of a Christmas Tree.
Each club member is given a secret Friend in VIEW at the AGM and they care for each other during the year, remembering birthdays, Christmas and other special occasions anonymously. Their names will be revealed in February at the annual general meeting and election of office bearers.
December birthdays were also celebrated for Marg Kelly, Margaret Stevens, Deirdre Andren, Kerry Keating, Fran Dunn and Jeanette Hinshelwood.
During the year club members have raised funds to support three disadvantaged students through The Smith Family children’s charity. The next fund-raiser will be held in February catering for the GoCo movie day.
