Established in September 1981, Top State Office Choice was founded with a clear purpose — to supply businesses with the office products they need, supported by strong local service. After starting briefly in a garage in East Tamworth, the business quickly moved into retail premises and has continued to expand its operations, now trading from Bourke Street, Tamworth.

Over the years, the business has continually expanded its range of office supplies in response to industry change and customer demand. According to Nigel Clancy, diversification and the ongoing growth of product offerings have been central to the company’s success.

“There has been continual change within the industry, including diversification in products and services provided,” said Mr Clancy.

“Over the years, continual expansion of a range of products has been key to the success of the business.”

A significant milestone came in 2014 when Top State joined Office Choice, one of Australia’s largest office supply buying groups. This move strengthened its ability to offer a broad range of competitively priced office products while maintaining its local ownership and community focus.

“This was to ensure continued support of the community in a competitive way and locally,” said Mr Clancy.

“The business still focuses strongly on individual contact and customer service.”

“We also service a wide range of customers, from the Queensland border to the Upper Hunter – giving to regional communities the same access that cities and the larger towns have,” he said.

Today, Top State Office Choice services a wide customer base across North West and New England, from the Queensland border to the Upper Hunter. This reach ensures regional customers have access to the same range of office supplies and support typically available in larger cities.

Alongside its product offering, the business continues to place strong emphasis on individual contact and customer service, providing face-to-face support for businesses and organisations. This approach has been recognised through nominations and a win in the Tamworth Quality Business Awards.
