Gunnedah-based junior cricketers Esther Maher and Phoebe Neilsen represented the North West region, while Emma Gander represented Polding in the NSW Primary Schools Sports Association (PSSA) girls cricket championships in Armidale last week.
Esther and Phoebe played in six games each, with North West beating Riverina and Hunter Invitational while the results weren’t so successful against Sydney North, South Coast, Sydney East, Sydney South West, and the other Hunter team.
Esther and Phoebe captured a few wickets, with Esther also holding a catch and Phoebe assisting in a run-out.
Phoebe also top-scored for North West in one match which was low-scoring.
The Polding team featuring Emma had mixed results, with wins against Sydney East, Western and Sydney South West while there were losses to Sydney West, CIS and Hunter Blue.
