Gunnedah South Public School hosted its annual Leadership Induction Ceremony on Monday, March 2, welcoming the 2026 School Leaders, Student Representative Council members, Positive Behaviour for Learning Student Leaders, and Sport House Leaders.

Family, staff, and peers gathered to celebrate the achievements and responsibilities of these young leaders.

The event highlighted the values of respect, integrity, and teamwork that underpin the Gunnedah South Public School community.

The newly inducted leaders will play an integral role in representing student voice, fostering positive behaviour, and promoting school spirit throughout 2026.

Principal Mrs Nicki Walsh congratulated the inductees, acknowledging that leadership is about “what others see in you; your attitude, level of commitment, how you treat others, and your ability to support those around you.”

She encouraged all inducted to “lead with kindness, to listen, and to be advocates for positive change.”

Furthermore, Mrs Walsh reminded students that “just because you are a leader doesn’t mean you’re perfect; leadership is a journey – and like any journey, it involves challenges as well as rewards.

It involves making mistakes, and most importantly, learning from them.”

The school extends its best wishes to all inductees, confident in their ability to lead with enthusiasm and dedication.
