Quirindi’s annual rodeo is back again for 2026, taking place this Saturday, March 28, starting from 9am with the main event on at 4:30pm.
Located at the Quirindi Showgrounds, gate prices are $15 for adults, $10 for concession/under 18 and $40 for a family pass (two adults and two children).
The Quirindi VRA Rescue Squad will man the gates this year.
The program is packed this year, consisting of open bulls, open bareback, open saddle bronc, junior bull ride, team roping, steer undercoating, ladies breakaway, open barrel race, rope and tie, steer wrestling, team roping, and junior barrel racing along with crowd favourite mini bulls for the juniors.
Winners of the steer wrestling and saddle bronc will both take home a memorial jacket, kindly donated by the Quirindi Rodeo Committee 2026.
The rodeo is the place to be this weekend, with some of the best ABCRA riders in attendance at Quirindi Rodeo including current champion saddle bronc rider Josh Barnett, Daine Patrick who is leading the bull ride and Jack Lees who is leading bareback.
Rebecca Barnett is currently leading the steer undercoating while local brothers Kyle and Cody Sternbeck are leading in novice bulls.
Chris Wilson, who is always a crowd pleaser, will return in the open bull ride.
Bailey George is leading crowd favourite category, mini bulls, and will also be attending Quirindi Rodeo.
But that is not all the Quirindi Rodeo has to offer.
Al Wilson is bringing entertainment for all with his clowning act.
There will be food and drink stores including catering from the Quirindi Lions and the Krackatinni bar will be operating from 12 until late.
This year, Quirindi Rodeo will take a moment to honour the legacy of two remarkable local horsemen – Allan Frewin, pick up man and a foundation member of Quirindi Rodeo, and David Ham, a renowned saddle bronc rider.
The stock contractors will be Fitzsimmons Bros, Chris Hipshot Meade, Greg Gibson and the open bulls will be supplied by Jared Farley while the pick up team will consist of Rossy Turnbull and Robbie George.
The presidents Robbie George and Cliffy Sternbeck with the 2026 committee members are deeply grateful for the sponsorship and support from all the Quirindi businesses and families.
