GUNNEDAH Can Assist has thanked the Gunnedah Vintage Vehicle Club for a generous $500 donation.
The funds were raised during the club’s recent swap meet and will help local people and families affected by cancer.
Can Assist is committed to ensuring people, regardless of where they live in NSW, have equitable access to cancer treatment and care.
By providing financial assistance, practical help and raising awareness of inequities faced by regional patients, the organisation works to ensure country people have the same treatment opportunities as those living in metropolitan areas.
Across NSW, Can Assist has provided more than $10m in assistance over the past five years through its network of 56 branches.
Can Assist Gunnedah president Kate Knight said community donations played an important role in helping the organisation continue its work.
“Every dollar raised locally stays in the local community and helps us provide practical assistance to people undergoing cancer treatment,” Knight said.
Gunnedah Can Assist helps local cancer patients with costs such as travel, accommodation and other treatment-related expenses.
Knight thanked the Gunnedah Vintage Vehicle Club, its members and everyone who supported the swap meet, saying the contribution would make a real difference to local families when they need it most.
