Spotlight: WATT’LE I DO

It is hard to believe that it’s nearly spring again – I think we barely entered winter!

1 September is Wattle Day, a day to celebrate Australia and being

Australian. Golden Wattle (Acacia pycnantha) is not just our national floral emblem, it is also among the first plants to regenerate after a fire and is a symbol of resilience, diversity and the importance of renewal.

Coming up this September, we will be making Macrame Bottle Holders and Black Cat Silhouettes for Make It! sessions on Wednesday 9 and 23 September, and a collection of speakers will come to discuss their travels for our Seniors Talk on Monday 21 September. More information to come…
