Gunnedah has claimed the 2025/26 Open Pennant State Finals Grade 4 title in a thrilling win at Nowra.
Gunnedah fielded three teams of four players and faced Glenbrook in the grand final.
Team one of Andrew Cameron, John Pryor, Mark Boyd and Caleb Cameron defeated the Glenbrook team 23 shots to 17.
Gunnedah’s second team of John Clark, Wayne Hosking, Brodie Towns and Jacob Martin were also triumphant 21 shots to 16.
The third team of Barry Robbins, Gary Fordham, Brett Green and Keith Hubbard went down 16 shots to 23.
Gunnedah won the state title 60 shots to 56 and nine points to one.
Earlier in the finals series, Gunnedah had a decisive 82 shots to 60 win against Moruya, also at Nowra.
Team one (John Clark, Wayne Hosking, Brodie Towns and Jacob Martin) were in dominant form, winning 32 shots to 15, while team two (Andrew Cameron, John Pryor, Mark Boyd and Caleb Cameron) were victorious 28 shots to 22.
Team three (Barry Robbins, Gary Fordham, Brett Green and Keith Hubbard) just missed claiming a win in a nail-biter, 22 shots to 23.
In the quarter-finals, Gunnedah defeated Willoughby Park 58 shots to 54.
Team one (John Clark, Wayne Hosking, Brodie Towns and Jacob Martin) were defeated 12 shots to 23.
Team two (Andrew Cameron, John Pryor, Mark Boyd and Caleb Cameron) claimed a strong win 24 shots to 12 while team three (Barry Robbins, Gary Fordham, Brett Green and Keith Hubbard) also won with a final score of 22 shots to 19.
Earlier in the series, Gunnedah had been defeated by Moruya 38 shots to 71 in round 3.
In round 2, Gunnedah defeated Water Board 62 shots to 51.
The Gunnedah teams started the 2025/26 BCiB Grade 4 series with a rousing win against Dapto Citizens with a final score of 64 shots to 48.
