Gunnedah South Public School had 53 students compete at the North West Athletics Trials held in Tamworth earlier in September.

It was a fantastic day for all involved, with students achieving impressive personal bests and demonstrating outstanding sportsmanship by supporting and encouraging one another throughout the day.

Vann Campbell – second, 9yrs boys 100m.

Lilly Steele.

 

Stella Geddes – third, 11yrs girls 100m and 200m.

Elsie Hathway – third, 9yrs girls 100m.

Pearce McDonald.

 

Pearce McDonald – third, 8yrs 100m.

Rivah McDonald – first, 10yrs boys 100m plus record; first, 200m boys plus record; first, junior long lump boys plus record; second, junior high jump boys.

Rivah McDonald, Vann Campbell and Bailey Irwin.

 

Taylor Morris – first, 11yrs girls long jump.

Lilly Steele – first, 11yrs girls 800m.

Beau Bilsborough, Vann Campbell, Bailey Irwin and Rivah McDonald – junior boys relay – first plus record.

The school also made special mention of Rivah McDonald for his remarkable achievement of winning three individual first places and a second place, as well as helping the junior boys relay team secure first place.

Impressively, he also set three new records during these events.
