GUNNEDAH and District Soccer Association celebrated a successful day out on the field after hosting a mixed junior gala day.
There were plenty of smiles and cheers with Gunnedah claiming top honours in several division.

13s winners – Gunnedah Gold. Coach: Brandon Turnbull. Dom Turnbull, James Turnbull, Mia West, Layla Orr, Chelsea Riley, Henry Allan and Poppy Cregan.
The Blues were the winners in the 5/6 division while Gunnedah Gold were runner-up.
Quirindi took out top honours in the 7s competition while Gunnedah’s Grass Kickers were runner-up.

12s runners-up – Dominators. Coach: Arlon McDonald. Huxley Sheridan, Xavier Sheridan, Rivah McDonald, Tai McNamara, Cooper Cannon, Mudiwa Chiduku and CJ Northey.
Gunnedah’s Rookie Ronaldos were winners in the 8s while Moore Creek were runner-up.
Gunnedah’s winning ways continued in the 9s competition with the Spurs claiming top honours while Quirindi FC were runner-up.

11s winners – Gunnedah Golden Strikers. Coach: Tim Broadhead. Jahleira Noter, Miley Mitchell, Zoe Riordan, Sam Broadhead, Archer Cannon, Mila Bates, Xander Batinic and Bodie Ley.
In the 10s division, Gunnedah Goal Hunters were the winners ahead of runner-up North Companions Black.
Gunnedah Golden Strikers won the 11s competition while Quirindi FC were runner-up.

10s winners – Gunnedah Goal Hunters. Coach: Peter White. Alex White, Jyle Gillon, Bastien Hallett, Aiden Donovan, Oakley Howgate, Owen Gourley, Marnie Bates and Ame Patison.
Narrabri Strikers won the 12s while Gunnedah’s Dominators were runner-up.

9s winners – The Gunnedah Spurs. Coach: Wade Hudson. Eli Hudson, Valli Brady, Harry Roberts, Thomas Meura, Micah Evans, Roy Wilkinson and Nixon Leven.
Gunnedah Gold also claimed the 13s and Gunnedah FC were the winners in the 14s.
Narrabri’s Bri Ballers rounded out the gala day by winning the 15/16s division while Narrabri Ninjas were runner-up.

8s winners – Rookie Ronaldos. Coaches: Brittany Bush and Nadine Gardner. Asher Bush, Anton Matthews, Demi Yorkshire, Rory Garder, Colton Gardner, Frank Thurston, Declan Mylchreest and Logan Ley.
Soccer association president Alli Gourley said they were pleased with the turnout for the annual event.
In addition to a strong fielding of local players, teams travelled from Narrabri, Tamworth, Quirindi and Coonabarabran.

7s runners-up – Grass Kickers. Coach: Wes Fouracre. Rory Fouracre, Jake Mitchell, James Mitchell, George Ceeney, Arlo Nelson and Olly McIlveen.
“Our Gunnedah teams did very well,” Gourley said.
“To put on a gala day like that is a big job.

5/6s runners-up – Gunnedah Gold. Coach: Steve Hallett. Nicholas Woods, Isla Sheridan, Aleksander Hallett, Connor Mylchreest and Fletcher Magennis.
“We’re lucky to have such a great committee and volunteers.
“The kids have a great time, which is so important.”

5/6s winners – The Blues. Coach: Kayla Kelaher. Oliver Kelaher, Nash Mulligan, Freddy O’Keefe, Curley Paton, Zac Hickman and Ted Rickard.
The association’s attention now turns to its girls’ gala day to be staged later this month.
