Swimming quintet earns top-four place at Orange

Swimming Gunnedah had only five competitors at last weekend’s Orange short course meet, but they certainly made a splash as they placed fourth overall in the medal tally from a total of 14 clubs. The small team returned home with a haul of 16 gold, 18 silver and six bronze medals along with some impressive personal best (PB) times. Cameron Sills scooped the pool with seven gold medals in the 11 years boys division. Gunnedah league taggers on the board with huge win over Panthers

The Gunnedah Bulldogs leaguetaggers recorded their first victory of the Group 4 season as they hammered the Wee Waa Panthers 48-0 at Kitchener Park last Sunday. Wee Waa had 13 players to Gunnedah’s 12 as the hosts missed a few regulars, and not even a lopsided penalty count against the Bulldogs could prevent them producing an onslaught. Gunnedah Bulldogs canter to landslide victory

Last Sunday’s Group 4 rugby league contest at Kitchener Park was cut short by 19 minutes as the Gunnedah Bulldogs were decimating the Wee Waa Panthers. The ‘mercy rule’ was utilised as the home side led 66-6 after scoring 14 tries to one, while the difference between the bottom-placed team and one of the top-placed teams was evident. The Bulldogs were by no means faultless as they made some mistakes and missed nine kicks at goal, with coach Sean Hayne repeatedly expressing his frustration.
