Emerald Hill CWA and Progress Association played host to 34 members of the Gunnedah Day VIEW Club, at the recent June meeting providing a delicious morning tea and lunch.
It was a sunny day but with a lazy wind blowing the meeting adjourned inside the village hall, where three new members were welcomed bringing the club’s membership to 43.
During the monthly meeting, voting was held around three resolutions for the upcoming national conference in Brisbane and a fine session resulted in a few surprises.
Kerry Kellner, Deb Naismith and Ro Eveleigh received their membership badges from president Joan Harwood.
Several members enjoyed the area gala day at Tamworth recently and four members attended a beautiful musical afternoon organised by Tamworth Evening VIEW Club, a tradition dating back 15 years. Another group travelled to Manilla for a soup and damper day which raised funds for their student scholarships. The guest speaker was Annie Flett who grew up in Manilla and secured a job at Channel 7 after completing the HSC. Over the years, she has climbed the ladder in different roles from programming to marketing, visited Japan for the Olympic Games and overall had a very interesting story to tell.
Guest speaker Annie Flett gave an interesting talk at Manilla VIEW Club.
