An outstanding set of nominations has set the scene for a huge day of racing at the Gunnedah Jockey Club this weekend, with strong fields across the program promising competitive and entertaining contests from start to finish.

The excellent noms ensure full, competitive fields that should provide plenty of value for punters and exciting finishes for racegoers.

But it’s not just the racing that will draw a crowd.

The popular Fashions on the Field competition returns, giving racegoers the perfect excuse to dress to impress. With great prizes up for grabs and plenty of style expected trackside, it’s set to add colour and flair to the afternoon.

Live music will keep the atmosphere buzzing throughout the day, creating the perfect backdrop for a relaxed country race meeting.

Patrons can also enjoy a full barbecue and canteen all day, along with a fully stocked bar to keep refreshments flowing.

For those keen to have a punt, TAB facilities will be available along with bookmakers fielding on both local and interstate races, ensuring plenty of wagering opportunities right across the program.

With excellent nominations, strong racing, entertainment, food and fashion on offer, this Saturday’s meeting promises something for everyone — whether you’re there for the thrill of the track, the social atmosphere, or simply a great day out.

Free buses will help racegoers get to and from the track, departing the Commercial Hotel Boggabri at 11.30am, Gunnedah Golf Club at midday, and the Courthouse Hotel Gunnedah at 12.10pm. Return services will operate after the last race, travelling back to the Courthouse Hotel and through to Boggabri.

The excitement begins today, with the Boggabri Cup Calcutta at the Commercial Hotel in Boggabri. Tickets go on sale at 6pm, with the auction starting at 7pm to set the tone for a big weekend of country racing.
