The Gunnedah Tentpeggers placed third while one of the members earned a runner-up placing at the recent Sydney Royal Easter Show.
Gunnedah sought to defend the title after winning the Golden Livermore Lance Perpetual Trophy last year, with this year’s team having two changes from last year.
This year’s team comprised Steve Bradshaw and the Craig clan of Michael, Renee and Steven, after last year’s team had Steven and Renee Craig along with Aedan Staats and Warren Bramley.
Having previously taken out top spot, Tamworth did so again this year while Northeast Victoria and Gunnedah took out the following two places after results were accumulated throughout the four-day competition.
Steven Craig also competed in the Skill At Arms over two days, and finished second overall after amassing 69 points out of a possible 72 on the latter day.
“The Sydney Royal Easter Show is the pinnacle for Tentpegging Australia, and to have been able to compete there three years running has been an amazing feeling,” Renee said.
With the Gunnedah Tentpeggers striving to qualify again next year, Gunnedah will host the 2026 NSW championships and the qualifier for the 2027 Sydney Royal Easter Show, in October.
