Five family generations turn out for McAndrew reunion

Five family generations, featuring more than 100 people turned out for the McAndrew family reunion this year at Lake Keepit. Family members travelled from Caloundra, the Gold Coast, Sydney, Dubbo, Cowra and Lismore for the event held over the Easter weekend. The reunion started in the early 1980s when the McAndrew brothers Ron, Keith, Noel and John and brother-in-law Harold Quigley, who all were born and grew up in Bathurst, wanted to find a way of keeping the family in touch. Mother’s Day raffle winner delighted with prize win

The Emerald Hill CWA Mother’s Day raffle was another drawn on May 9, 2025. The excited winner was Shail Mitchell. Shail was presented her winning hamper prize by Emerald Hill CWA secretary, Lyn Pine.

Joyce wins the $250 ‘Beat the Biz’ jackpot

The round 10 winner of Gunnedah Times’ Beat the Biz footy tipping competition, Joyce Schild, was very excited to claim the win in a tough tipping week. Come-from-behind wins and a rare draw certainly kept footy tippers on the edge of their seats in last weekend’s NRL matches. Joyce successfully tipped more winners than sponsor W.A Baxter & Co to win $250 in vouchers which can be spent at participating businesses in the Gunnedah district. Gunnedah Public star at PSSA Netball, Anne Singleton Cup

After weeks of training and an exciting Gala day, selected students represented Gunnedah Public School in the first round of PSSA Netball. Gunnedah Public hosted Gunnedah South School on Monday, May 5 for the game, using the school’s new multi-purpose court. After four quarters of exciting fast paced and skillful netball, Gunnedah Public School won 9-5. This is the first time in almost a decade GPS will progress through to the PSSA knockout rounds for netball.
