It is National Volunteer Week 2025 – a great time to celebrate everything volunteers do for our community! Gunnedah shire is home to people who are more likely to put their hands up for volunteering than the average New South Wales shire – 17.1 per cent of the population compared to 15.5 per cent statewide. Gunnedah pharmacists Lisa Hagley and Annette Osmond are this month celebrating 25 years in business. Now operating as Discount Drug Store Gunnedah, the Conadilly Street chemist operated for many years under the ownership of Lisa’s father, Terry. When the business changed hands in the year 2000, it was a busy time in many ways for Lisa and Annette. Music enthusiasts can now get their hands on the Gunnedah Conservatorium’s newest event booklet. It is the guide to all things musical entertainment in the shire and encapsulates a variety of interests. Not only does the front cover beautifully boast local artist Anne Pickett’s lino work, there are also plenty of other local aspects. Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow to return to Gunnedah

Fresh comedy will be served up in Gunnedah when the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow returns in its 27th year. Quick-witted host Jake Howie and comedians Ben Kochan, Janty Blair, Ting Lim and Zack Dyer will take to the stage at the Gunnedah Town Hall on Thursday, 12 June from 7:30pm.
