Plains of Plenty has had an extensive facelift that is hard to ignore in recent weeks, especially with its new neon sign that flatters the terracotta colour of the shop front.
While it had been known to locals as a comforting shop selling regionally made art, craft and produce, before its improvements it seemed to be hiding in plain sight next to the neighbouring pub.
When trying to explain the place was located next to the Gunnedah Shire Library it was often met with “No, the pub is next to the library”.
Plains of Plenty was able to purchase new signs by securing a $1000 grant from the Gunnedah Shire Council’s Business Partner Program.
Yvette Hugill created the design before Print and Stitch brought it to life.
The business has been a part of the community since the early 2000s, starting at the Rural Museum for 12 months, the Scouts Hall, then to Barber Street before taking its place in Conadilly Street.
The shop has a wide variety of products from artwork that supports local artists, to homemade treats and jams and farm fresh free-range eggs.
