There has been a change at Ve’s Nails with former owner Vy Ngo selling the business to employee Sally Molenkamp in December last year, with the popular Gunnedah nail studio being relaunched as The Luxe Lounge.

Sally had worked for Vy for the previous four years and when Vy approached her asking if she would like to buy the business, she said yes.

“It was the right time to venture into business,” Mrs Molenkamp said.

“The opportunity presented itself and it was good timing to take the leap.

“It has been a whirlwind, especially taking over in December which is one of the busiest times of the year, but it is such an amazing team here.”

Sally has been in the beauty industry for eight years, focusing on nails for the past four, after always having an interest in beauty.

Sally said it has been a juggling act, owning a business and making it work around her three children and her family, but she is making it work.

“I have always admired the small business owners around Gunnedah,” Mrs Molenkamp said.

“To now be one is great.

“It is empowering to own a business and I am blessed to have such an amazing team. It really was an easy transition for both me and Vy.

“The support has been incredible for the changeover, from the team and the community.

“I did some small renovations and a coat of paint during a week over Christmas and we have just organised new signage, making the business my own.

“I have recently put on a trainee and I plan to expand my business, introducing some new products and services to our clients.”

The name may be changing, but the incredible service the community loves has not, with pedicures and nail services still the same exceptional quality.

“I want this to be a space people can come to relax and escape their busy lives, even for just a lunch break manicure,” Mrs Molenkamp said.
