Plans lodged for Narrabri West motel

Renewed investment in Narrabri West is continuing, with development plans lodged to construct a 23-room motel on Mooloobar Street.

The proposal follows extensive renovations and a grand reopening of the neighbouring Wilga Hotel.

The plans will see the facility, the Ironbark Motel, constructed at the corner of Mooloobar and Buri Streets.

The Narrabri West development would also include a manager’s residence and office.

Travelling workers across farming, mining and rail industries would be catered for given the motel’s prime location, the development application states.

“The new proposal will enhance the recently upgraded Wilga Hotel, providing services to this part of town which currently don’t exist,” the application states.

“The proposed development will enhance the wide range of accommodation options available in the Narrabri Council area,” the development application states.

“The accommodation will enhance the services provided to the public, which in turn will provide economic advantage to the local community.”
