LAWN BOWLS:
The bowling greens were a hive of activity last weekend with the semi-finals and final of the consistency singles played.
In semi-final 1, Scott Thorning defeated Jake Martin 151-119, with semi-final 2 going to Tim Thorning 152-143 over Paul Lodge. For the second time this year, this again left a final to played between father and son, Scott and Tim Thorning.
In what was a hotly contested final, Tim Thorning led most of the way to gain his long-awaited revenge on his father, winning the match 152-132. Scott Thorning congratulated his son on a great win and gaining bragging rights – for at least now anyway.
