Darryl Brady’s dedication to the Moree RSL sub-branch has been honoured with the inaugural Member of the Year award.

Mr Brady was presented with the honour by sub-branch president Roger Butler OAM.

Presenting the honour to Mr Brady was a unanimous decision by the organisation which has paid tribute to the time and energy Mr Brady has given the sub-branch on many occasions.

“Not only time and energy but concepts  and new and innovative ways to raise much-needed funds,” Mr Butler said.

Mr Brady initiated a trash and treasure sale at the markets as a way of raising funds for the sub-branch, and is also known for starting early in the mornings to sell badges for Anzac Day and Remembrance Day.

Mr Brady also stepped up to taken on the responsibility of marshal at the Anzac Day parade in 2022.

Mr Butler said Mr Brady, who had no previous experience as the marshal, took over the role nervously but successfully.

The award was presented to Mr Brady at the sub-branch’s well-attended Christmas function in December, with the gathering celebrating Mr Brady’s extensive contributions.
